Certainly, you can name yourself? Whose going to tell you otherwise? I don’t have a witch name because I would feel silly naming myself, personally.

In the olden days witches believed that if anyone knew their true name, it could be used in curses against them. So they created fake ones. You’ll find a similar belief in Christianity when exorcising demons, priests require the name.

It’s said that when a spirit tries to appear and/or communicate it draws on the energies in the room, causing interesting phenomena such as, flickering lights, drained batteries, high EMF, and cold spots. Maybe your gran is just with you.

When my mom died a friend of mine and myself did a joking ghost reading in her old room where my room-mate now lives. She was at work at the time and we purposely didn’t tell her that we did it because, we knew it would freak her out. One of the questions I asked over my recorder was, “Can you visit people in their dreams?” We heard no paranormal voices on the other end but, the next morning my room-mate said she’d had a dream that I came into her room and announced that I’d seen my mother. In the dream she said   I then pointed to the window and my mother was hovering outside of it.

This was interesting to me in two separate regards. One, was that we had done the recording without her knowledge and it seemed a little odd to me that she would have such a dream directly after. The second was, the night after my mom died I was in my downstairs bathroom messing with my hair when the doorbell rang. Now my front door is literally three steps from said bathroom. Our walk way runs along side our garage on one side and has the expanse of our yard, which is quite large on the other. I opened that door and there was no one there. For the amount of time it took me to move from my bathroom to the door it would mean I would have had to have caught whoever was there before they got out of my sight. Now of course the first thing I thought of was my mother. The second thing I thought of was, had it been her why wouldn’t she just come inside? The same with Kiki’s dream. If it had been my mother why would she be outside? It was almost like she couldn’t get in, which made me think of something else. My friend as I’ve discussed with several other anons had to border protect my house to keep bad things from coming in. My thought was perhaps it inadvertently prevents her from entering too. So she had to ring the bell.

Now, I know that seems a little off subject but my point is that after the death of a loved one, there may be all sorts of strange activity and it could be as simple as Goodbye. Or maybe it was just a cold spot. Now, I don’t recommend whipping out the Ouji boards but for a while at least try connecting with her. In my opinion my moms sticking around for a bit to make sure we’re okay (or it could be that her urn is on our mantle and she hasn’t been put to rest yet but-), little gestures can assure her that you are. Talk to the empty room. Meditate there. Sometimes spirits can connect with you better while meditating because you’re more spiritually in-tune.
